Excellent Spring Break Reads:

"The Hole in our Gospel" by Richard Stearns.  Published by Thomas Nelson 2009.  Former CEO of Lenox and current president of World Vision Rich Stearns argues that modern churches tend to sell fire insurance (ticket to heaven) and fail to be the salt and light (and hands and feet) of Jesus here on earth.  Compelling perspective on loving, giving, helping, and caring for the not yet saved.  Winner of Christianity Today's 2010 book award of merit.

"A Tale of Two Sons" by John MacArthur.  Published by Thomas Nelson 2008.  Most of us know the parable of prodigal son.  I'm betting that most don't understand everything that Jesus intended.  John MacArthur extracts the historical relevance along with the Spiritual significance of the parable from the perspective of the father, the older son, as well as the younger (prodigal) son.  See everything that Jesus taught in this parable!

"Twelve Ordinary Men" by John MacArthur.  Published by Thomas Nelson 2002.  The author provides a look at each of the apostles from a God-like perspective.  Using the Gospels and epistles he weaves together a picture of their heart:  their character, their motivations, and even their weakness.  Jesus used their strengths and their weaknesses to mold these twelve ordinary men into the extraordinary - just as He will do with us!
